Over 150 years ago a group of New Testament believers started meeting to worship God. They referred to themselves as the Church of Christ at Bethel. More than ten years ago it became obvious that the current building would not hold the growing numbers, so a new meeting place was built a few hundred yards away. Bethel has continued to grow and show God’s love. Jesus told Nicodemus that he would have to be born again to enter the Kingdom of God. Just as earthly parents feed and nourish their children, we as elders are in charge of feeding and nourishing our members. We need to provide opportunities to teach and learn, give and receive when needed, and provide a place to worship in “Spirit and Truth.”
1 Timothy 3:8-12 “Likewise deacons must be reverent, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy for money, holding the mystery of the faith with great conscience. But let these also first be tested: then let them serve as deacons, being found blameless. Likewise their wives must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things. Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.”
